I dream of achieving great in life. Even you do.
So as they.
But have you wondered how some people always manage to be steps ahead in their life?
Yep, they are powered by this thing called Discipline - their Day Booster.
Won't you agree that every champion or achievers are immensely admired by the people for their disciplined life?
But how do they managed to do so?
How can I achieve what I dreamt of?
If you say, "I will get my Day Booster today anyhow."
That brings us to an important question for you today -
- ARE YOU WILLING TO PAY THE PRICE?
- Are you ready to sacrifice some little things for greater good?
I understand - adding self-discipline into the life is
something squeezy and little hard. It always tempting to have pleasure at the
moment and just forget about tomorrow.
YOU NEED TO KNOW THAT THE WORK WE PUT IN FOR GREAT THINGS WILL NOT HAVE AN IMMEDIATE PAYOFF.
But the value you get for practising your ritual - you feel a lot better about yourself. A satisfaction.
See - Discipline is not so complicated and out of reach.
If we look at it for understanding it,
Discipline is nothing more than actually doing what you know, which must be done just in a timely and consistently manner.
-Ralph Marston
Discipline, though sounds cool - demands some painful
sacrifices. It's painful because you sense it so at the moment and not because
what it actually values for.
When it comes to sacrifice, I used to let go of what I want
the most for what I wanted for a moment, for a day. I'm too lazy to think of
tomorrow. But that was sad😏 This should not be the
case if you are attached to the dream. It must be always other way around.
You and I should be sacrificing little comforts today for
what we really want the most. That's the price we pay to get ticket to our
dreams.
When you start to do this over and over - you develop habit
of discipline. Often people share common dreams and they all know the straight
road for it. It's only the discipline which pushes and takes farther than you
ever thought of.
If dreams are that easy, nobody would be calling it great.
When we admire achievers - we are actually going "Woah" for the discipline they practised, to get things done.
Payment for the ticket of dream done through Discipline - no
doubt about that. I want to be more disciplined. But what about this wanting if
you are still saying yes to things you should have said no and No to the things
which you should have said yes?
It involves some harshness. It demands some rigidity in you.
Discipline is doing what you have to do, when you have to do it, whether you feel like it or not
Practise DISCIPLINE
Time to point out steps to develop more self-discipline for good. Someone has to start somewhere. Here you can get started with putting on discipline.
Write down neatly
Write down clearly what you really want for the dream that you dreamt of.
This is largely underrated but it's huge. You actually THINK
MORE CLEAR here.
It helps to be more specific. I want good shape isn't
helping. I hit 5 workout sessions every week is something meaningful.
THERE IS ALWAYS MORE POWER TO YOU IN BEING SPECIFIC - though
you achieve it perfectly or not becomes secondary. You may even do more than
what you expected! Who knows?
Please do write in affirmative tone. Like as you did it and
tick it done once you actually done doing. It gives immense pleasure to think
of what you scratched out today from your Goal-list.
Manage small actions
It's always tempting to look on big goals - great deals to
start with. But you are simply skipping the baby steps to reach that
qualification my dear.
Start with simple things which are so simple you can't say
no. Want to meditate? Start off you 60-seconds silence right now. Want to be
organised? start with the table you are sitting infront of.
Begin with simple tasks around you. If you think little
more, you'll find there are actually many more such little gems. Start
exploring.
Get discomfort training
The reason we give up on discipline so easily is because we
are very much used to do comfortable and familiar things all the day.
Though we know all our great dreams lies on other side of
our comfort - we are quite not used to it. We are addicted to comfort because
we didn't knew that a good discomfort can make us high.
Take them as interval training. Run a few seconds more when you feel done running. Do one more hour of work in the weekend. You can always do.
YOU ARE AWESOME ENOUGH TO HANDLE DISCOMFORT 💪
From today onward you have got two choices - choose pain of
regret or pain of discipline. But believe me, pain of regret is much heavier to
bear.
Keep going. More Power to you.
Peace. ☮
